Community
Building Our Community
Highland Hospital has made important contributions to the health and well-being
of our community for more than 80 years, as well as providing thousands of jobs
for local residents. The ATR Project will continue that tradition of medical care
and employment opportunities. In fact, the project will give a potent shot in the arm to the local economy, as well as the local arts community, by creating contracting opportunities for firms, and by commissioning new works by local artists.
Contracting Opportunities
The $668-million ATR Project will create a wide spectrum of opportunities for local contractors and vendors. Alameda County and Clark Design/Build of California, the local firm responsible for the project's design and construction, are committed to involving other community businesses as well. For more information, see Contracting
Opportunities.
Public Art
The Alameda County Art Commission is committed to maintaining an innovative, high-quality
public art program, with a collection that enlivens public spaces and inspires the
community. The ATR Project offers a unique opportunity to bring new local art into
a major new public venue. For more information, see Public
Art.
